The real question isn't which sensor is best. It's which one fits the way you already manage your day. The FreeStyle Libre and the Medtronic Guardian split on one thing: what each does with your glucose number. The Libre shows you the reading and leaves the next move to you. Which one fits you
If you're new to CGMs, or you just want to keep things low-key, the Libre is usually the easier start. You apply it, you read it on your phone, and that's the routine. No calibration to remember, lower cost, no pump to run.
The Guardian makes more sense if you use, or want to move to, the MiniMed 780G. When the sensor and pump talk to each other, the constant mental maths of highs and lows eases off, because the system is carrying some of it for you. The trade-offs are honest ones: shorter wear, and the cost of a full pump setup.

Keeping either one on your skin
For all their differences, both sensors share the same soft spot. They sit on the skin, held by their own factory adhesive, and a hard knock on a doorframe or mid-game can pull the whole thing out. When that happens before the sensor's time is up, it's usually gone for good. That's a costly, deflating way to lose a day of readings, and it's rarely anything you did wrong.
