Which Type Strong Patch Fits Your CGM?
Type Strong makes six adhesive patch SKUs plus two accessories, each pre-cut for a specific diabetes device family. Dexcom G7, ONE+, and Stelo all use the same patch.
FreeStyle Libre 1, 2, 3, and Abbott Lingo all use the same patch. Medtronic Guardian, Omnipod 5, and tubed insulin pump infusion sets each have a dedicated SKU. The matching table is in the next section.
Type Strong was founded after the patches Ryan Lecchi bought for his own Dexcom G7 kept lifting before the sensor cycle ended. Seven years of wearing CGMs through swimming, the gym, work travel, and ordinary life with Type 1 diabetes shaped the lineup below. Each section names the product, who it fits, what is in the box, and where to find it on type-strong.com.
The goal across the line is simple: make life with diabetes easier by keeping the sensor on the body for the full cycle.

Dexcom G7, ONE+, and Stelo Adhesive Patches
The Dexcom G7, ONE+, Stelo Adhesive Patches fit any of three Dexcom devices: G7, ONE+, and Stelo.
The pack comes in 20, pre-cut for the G7 and ONE+ sensor footprint. The cut shape is custom, so no trimming is needed before applying. The materials are breathable and skin-friendly, designed to hold for 10 days or more with proper skin prep.
Why a patch matters here:
Dexcom’s own data shows that roughly 22 percent of Stelo sensors fall short of their full 15-day wear cycle, with edge lifting being the most common failure mode (source: stelo.com official FAQ on adherence). For active wearers, an overpatch closes that gap. Ryan, Type Strong’s founder, has worn G7 sensors through swimming and gym training for the past three years and credits the right overpatch with the difference between losing a sensor on day 6 and reaching the full wear cycle.
Stelo is the over-the-counter glucose biosensor from Dexcom, cleared by the FDA in March 2024 for people not using insulin. Stelo is built on Dexcom G7 hardware, which means the sensor footprint is identical to G7. The same Type Strong patch fits both. Our product title reflects this directly: “Dexcom G7, ONE+, Stelo Adhesive Patches.”
Key features taken from our product page:
-
Pre-cut for G7 and ONE+, no trimming required.
-
Sweatproof and waterproof for workouts, humidity, and daily friction.
-
Latex-free and hypoallergenic, gentle on sensitive skin.
-
Low-profile design that stays discreet under clothing.
-
10-day-plus hold when applied with proper skin prep.
When a G7 or ONE+ sensor keeps peeling mid-wear, this is the patch that fixes it.

Dexcom G6 Adhesive Patches
If you are still wearing a Dexcom G6, you need a different cut from the G7 patch. The G6 sensor has a distinct shape from the G7, and using the wrong cut leaves edges exposed.
The Dexcom G6 Adhesive Patches are pre-cut specifically for the G6 sensor footprint. The pack size, materials, and hold rating match the G7 line: 20 patches, latex-free, hypoallergenic, sweatproof, and rated for 10 days or more of wear with good skin prep.
A common question we hear is whether one pack can serve both G6 and G7. The answer is no. The cut pattern is different because the sensors are different. If you are switching from G6 to G7, that is also when to switch from the G6 patch pack to the G7 pack.

FreeStyle Libre Adhesive Patches (Libre 1, 2, 3, and Lingo)
The FreeStyle Libre Adhesive Patches are the most versatile single SKU in the lineup. The cut is sized for FreeStyle Libre 2 and Libre 3, and the same patch also serves Libre 1 wearers and Abbott Lingo users.
Lingo is Abbott’s over-the-counter biosensor for non-insulin users tracking glucose response to food and exercise (source: hellolingo.com). Lingo shares the FreeStyle Libre family form factor, which is why the Type Strong product page leads with: “The best protection for your Freestyle Libre 2, 3 or Lingo CGM.”
Key features from the product page:
-
Pre-cut for Libre 2 and Libre 3, accurate fit without trimming.
-
Sweatproof and waterproof, built for gym sessions, showers, and swimming.
-
Latex-free, hypoallergenic adhesive for sensitive skin.
-
Lasts 10 days or more with proper skin prep and adhesive wipes.
-
Low-profile design that resists snagging on clothes.
-
20 patches per pack, enough for two to three months of protection.
-
Also compatible with Miao Miao, NightRider BluCon, and other Libre-compatible transmitters.

Medtronic Guardian Adhesive Patches
For Medtronic Guardian 3 and Guardian 4 sensor users, we make a dedicated Medtronic Guardian Adhesive Patch. Guardian sensors have their own footprint and adhesive ring shape, distinct from Dexcom or FreeStyle Libre. The patch is pre-cut to match.
The Guardian patch shares the materials, hold rating, and 20-pack format with the rest of our CGM patch line. If you use a Medtronic insulin pump alongside your Guardian sensor, you may also want the Pump Infusion Set Patches (covered below) for the pump cannula site.
Shop Medtronic Guardian Adhesive Patches.
Omnipod Patches
The Omnipod 5 is an integrated insulin pump worn on the body rather than connected by tubing. The pod has its own top adhesive ring, which is where lifting tends to start, especially in heat and humidity.
The Omnipod Patches are sized for the Omnipod 5 pod footprint, sold in a 20-pack, with the same materials and hold rating as the rest of the line. This is a different SKU from the Pump Infusion Set Patches, which are sized for traditional insulin pump cannula sites.
For Omnipod 5 wearers, two related posts go deeper: do you need a special patch for Omnipod 5 and five tips to protect your Omnipod patch pump.
Pump Infusion Set Patches
Tubed insulin pump users (Medtronic 780G, Tandem t:slim X2, and similar) need a patch sized for the infusion set adhesive at the cannula site. The Pump Infusion Set Patches are sized to fit a standard infusion set footprint, not a CGM sensor or an Omnipod pod. They come in a 20-pack.
Pump users often wear both a CGM and an infusion set, which means many Type Strong customers buy two SKUs from this guide: a CGM patch for the sensor and the Pump Infusion Set Patch for the cannula.

The accessories that make every patch work better
Two accessory products in our lineup are designed to extend the wear time of any of the patches above.
Skin Adhesive Wipes:
Apply before placing your patch. The wipes remove residual skin oils and create a tackier surface for the adhesive to bond to. Most early patch lifts trace back to skin prep, and adhesive wipes are the simplest fix.
Shop Type Strong Skin Adhesive Wipes. The protocol behind the wipes is broken down step by step in how to use adhesive wipes to improve CGM and patch wear time.

Type Strong 5m Tape Roll:
A roll of medical-grade tape for spot repairs and the picture-frame technique. If an edge of your existing patch starts lifting on day five, you can cut small strips and frame the patch to extend the cycle without removing the sensor.
Shop Type Strong 5m Tape Roll.
